I have read a lot of debates on the ages of the TF2 bros (like the Pyro gender debate, I stand on the male side but I am totally fine with femme). I am open to whatever but here are my head canons. The top number being the most probably age bracket, and the lower being what I like to think of them as.
Also, people who say Medic is an old man- I don’t think he’d be any older than 55 and that ain’t old. Sad that people think it is “grandpa” worthy x3 Ignore cruddy doodle, thought it might make the post more interesting.
I’m not serious when I call him a grandpa that is called jokes I don’t think he’s older than maybe his early 50’s myself.
I place Soldier as being older and Engineer and Spy as being slightly younger personally but otherwise we sync up pretty well as far as ages go.

Dude don’t look like he’s in his 30’s the dude is a foxy grandpa.
That’s his appeal.
Also he should be old enough to have participated in some way in WWII that just makes things interesting.

Seriously, though, I’ve always pegged Medic for about fifty. Certainly he keeps himself fit/healthy for his age, and physically I figure respawn slows aging down during the course of his employment, but he’s still all foxy grandpa, and it puts him at a good age for his past to be explored. As played out and kind of distasteful as I usually find NaziMedic, I really love the moral ambiguity of a Medic at about 25 years of age who is doing what he has to to survive— and if he’s gay, or Jewish, or Catholic, or communist, or… well, there’s a pretty good list of things that would have sent him into hiding, or scared him into turning collaborationist, possibly saboteur. Or maybe he was part of the brain drain pre-war! Which could have led to plenty of tension with colleagues who don’t trust him… There’s a lot of things to play with in that time period, is all I’m saying, and Medic strikes me as the right age to have been in the middle of it.

Okay I guess it’s ready now.
Engineer as a mechanican, Spy as a conductor, Demoman as a cleaner, Pyro as a boiler-/fireman, Sniper as a tramp, Soldier as a conductor too, Scout as a rebel who hangs out at the station even though he shouldn’t, Medic as a doctor who goes to his work by train and Heavy as a random guy who moved temporarily from Russia with his university friends and who also uses the train daily.
Plot shortly: Engineer builds miniature trains in his freetime, Spy teases him about that. Sniper often travels with the train as a stowaway and Soldier is the one who always kicks him out. Spy chases Scout because he’s not supposed to hang out at the station. This causes lots of slapstick. Medic is always lost in his own thoughts, Heavy constantly asks him about translations. Demoman is drunk and happy and Pyro sleeps in the boiler room.
Oh yeah black man always cleanin’ up the place I KID.
